James GilchristEnglish tenor James Gilchrist (born 1966) began his working life as a doctor, turning to a full-time career in music in 1996. He regularly appears as a soloist with many leading orchestras and ensembles throughout Europe and America including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra. A keen recitalist, he appears in varied programmes with piano, harp and lute accompaniment. James Gilchrist has made many recordings and also participates on Volume 21 of this series (BIS-CD-1311).
