The album "Oriental Landscapes" features a collection of contemporary classical compositions that merge Eastern and Western musical traditions. The album includes Chen Yi's "Percussion Concerto," inspired by traditional Chinese opera and poetry, Thea Musgrave's "Journey through a Japanese Landscape," which interprets the seasons through Japanese haikus, Zhou Long's "Out of Tang Court," which blends ancient Chinese court music with modern orchestration, and Alan Hovhaness's "Fantasy on Japanese Wood Prints," evoking the art and culture of Japan. The Singapore Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Lan Shui, performs these works with renowned percussionist Evelyn Glennie.
