Swedish cellist Torleif Thedéen, winner of three international cello competitions in 1985, joins the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra under Kees Bakels for Dvořák's beloved Cello Concerto in B minor Op.104. Composed during Dvořák's American years, the concerto contains a poignant quotation from the song 'Kéž duch můj sám', written by Dvořák for his dying sister-in-law Josefina. The programme is completed by two orchestral tone poems: the dramatic Water Goblin Op.107 and the festive Karneval Op.92.
