Three enchanting choral works from one of the UK's most accomplished contemporary composers: Errollyn Wallen's new release on the King's College label depicts the mystery and exhilaration of faith. In the three works, 'Peace on Earth', 'See that I am God', and 'Pace', Errollyn reaches across centuries of traditions and cultures to create a journey of human reflection like no other; a musical journey that spans from the intimate to the majestic. The journey begins with the contemporary carol 'Peace on Earth'. The lone voice of 13-year-old chorister George Hill over a slowly spinning ostinato yearns for light and peace in the bleakness of winter and a turning, troubled world. Darkness and longing is followed by mystery, majesty and exhilaration in 'See that I am God' – a setting of words by the 14th-century religious visionary Julian of Norwich. Finally, to be understood as "a single human breath", 'Pace' conveys as a single line the world's long journey to light and peace.
