The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1935 and is based in Glasgow. The orchestra appears regularly at major festivals such as Edinburgh and the BBC Proms, and tours widely in Scotland and elsewhere in the UK. It has also frequently toured abroad, for example to China and to the USA.
