Farkas, Ferenc
Hungarian composer Ferenc Farcas (1905-2000).
He was an extremely versatile composer of both sacred and secular music. Farkas wrote in the most varied styles and used both twelve-tone and traditional techniques. His most important and popular works are based on folk-music. In 1949 he was appointed professor of composition at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest. He retired from this post in 1975.
