Scott, Cyril
English composer and pianist Cyril Scott (1879-1970). Also a writer on Oriental philosophy and mysticism. Scott was ahead of his time in his music and was described by Eugene Goosens as the 'father of modern British music'. Though he studied with Humperdinck in Frankfurt, his compositions show a stro9ng influence from French Impressionistric music.
