On the occasion of Johann Strauss' 200th birthday, the Salzburg Wind Philharmonic and its principal conductor Hansjörg Angerer celebrate the Waltz King not only with incomparable waltzes that express his extraordinary genius, imagination and infinite inspiration, but also with the full range of typical Viennese dance music from his pen. Of course, colleagues and admirers of Johann Strauss such as Johannes Brahms, Richard Wagner or Giuseppe Verdi, as well as his most important comrade-in-arms in the world of light music, Jacques Offenbach, or the ‘Danish Strauss’, Hans-Christian Lumbye, are among the ‘well-wishers’ at this event. A unique birthday celebration is being held in honour of the anniversary year of Johann Strauss with these wonderful and exhilarating melodies!
