This album, *Music of the Romantic Era*, is a live recording of the highly acclaimed 2026 Epiphany Concert from the Großes Festspielhaus in Salzburg. It features works by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Carl Maria von Weber, Antonín Dvořák and Dmitri Shostakovich, amongst others. The Salzburg Wind Philharmonic is distinguished as one of the world’s leading wind philharmonic orchestras by its unique sound and its distinctive artistic interpretations. Founded in 2002 by principal conductor Hansjörg Angerer, the ensemble has produced an extraordinary range of CD and DVD releases over the course of its now more than 20-year history. Wenzel Fuchs, one of the leading clarinettists of his time, was born in Innsbruck and, even whilst still a student, appeared as a guest musician with all the major Viennese orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra. At the age of just 19, he began his professional career as principal clarinettist in the Vienna Volksoper Orchestra, later joining other orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic. In addition to his orchestral work, Wenzel Fuchs has also performed as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles. Since October 2015, he has held a professorship at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. In addition, he holds a visiting professorship at the Geidai University of the Arts in Tokyo and an honorary professorship at the Shanghai Conservatory, and gives masterclasses worldwide.
