German Klenke Quartet was founded in 1991 and has its roots at the Franz Liszt Hochschule für Musik in Weimar. Various prizes and awards, such as from the Prague-Vienna-Budapest International Music Academy, the International Max Reger Competition and the German Music Competion, gave the four women of the ensemble the assurance they needed to step out onto the German and international concert stage.
