Miah Persson

The Swedish soprano Miah Persson[pdf] (b. 1969) graduated from Operahögskolan (the University College of Opera) in Stockholm in 1999. Among her first appearances were as Brigida in Cimarosa's Gli sposi per accidenti at Studio Lirico in Cortina, Italy and as Hero in Berlioz' Béatrice et Bénédict with the European Union Opera at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris. Since then appearances in various operatic roles, such as Pamina in The Magic Flute at the Vienna State Opera as well as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, have met with great acclaim. Miah Persson is also in great demand for concert appearances and has collaborated with conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Vladimir Ashkenazy and René Jacobs, performing at some of the world's most prestigious venues and at festivals such as the Salzburger Festspiele, Glyndebourne and the BBC Proms.
