Laura Vikman

Laura Vikman studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and in Cologne and Vienna. A prizewinner at the Beethoven Violin Competition in the Czech Republic, the Kuopio Violin Competition, the Leipzig Bach Violin Competition and at the Vittorio Gui Chamber Music Competition in Italy, she has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras including the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Belgian National Orchestra, and is in great demand internationally as a recitalist and at festivals. Since 2002 she has been the leader of the Tempera Quartet and third leader of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, as well as appearing as leader of the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, Sixth Floor Orchestra (Helsinki) and Arpeggione Chamber Orchestra (Austria).
