Nilsson: Nox angustiae/1c: Lamento (for soprano - Marianne Mellnäs - and organ - Karl-Erik Welin). A solar eclipse inspired the composer to depict his impression of the original Good Friday, that is to say the unvarnished reality with the mockery and contempt of the crowd, their tumultuous outbursts contrasted with the women's lamentations at the foot of the cross.
