BIS Boss Robert von Bahr: All of us at BIS and eClassical have many reasons to rejoice, when it comes to Martin Fröst and his clarinet. Not only is he consistently showered with reviews that are second to none and better than almost everyone's, not only did his latest record (Dances to a Black Pipe) get a 5-star review in Scherzo, Spain, Outstanding in IRR, UK, Audiofile Highlight des Monats in Stereo, Germany, Recording of the Month, MusicWeb Int, UK, Supersonic Award in Pizzicato, Luxemburg, and the international ICMA Award for the Best Concerto Record, not only has he recorded the No 1 best-selling disc in the history of BIS (his Mozart album 1263 has sold about 250'000 copies), but now he has come up with something that basically is impossible to beat: Martin Fröst is the winner of the Léonie Sonning Music Prize for 2014.
